How to Check What Others See
Search your GSTIN on the GST portal without login.
Open the GST portal website → Go to the "Search Taxpayer" option → Select "Search by GSTIN/UIN" → Enter your 15-digit GSTIN → Enter the captcha → Click "Search" → View the profile details.
Then search again after logging in to your own GST account.
This gives you the same view that clients see.
Can Someone Check If Other GST Registrations Exist on Your PAN?
The GST portal has one more search option called "Search by PAN". It is inside the same "Search Taxpayer" menu.
A GSTIN contains your 10-digit PAN number inside it. If a person enters a PAN in this search tool, the portal will show all GST registrations linked to that PAN, state-wise.
- If you have more than one GST registration under the same PAN, all of them will appear.
- If someone has opened a GST registration using your PAN without your knowledge, that GSTIN will also appear.
PAN misuse is a real risk. If a fraudster uses your PAN and opens a fake GST registration, the compliance burden will come to your PAN. GST notices will be issued in your name.
If you see any GSTIN that does not belong to you, you must raise a complaint with the GST department. You must also raise a grievance on the GST portal.
This is basic identity protection for anyone who works remotely and invoices foreign clients.
